Topic: trying the skull from this week's lesson

I referenced the three-D image off this, done in a black, fine point gel pen because I didn't have a fineliner, and my sketchbook is only 5 1/2 by 8 1/2, but they worked. Drawing in ink without doing a pencil sketch first is hard! I guess these came out okay, and I will definitely be doing more in the future.
These look good. And great job challenging yourself to not use a pencil to start. I have the same difficulty, but we will only get more confidence just as the instructor has been saying as we continue to draw.
Jorden, Thank you for getting us to begin drawing without fear. Your instruction is very nonjudgmental and encouraging.

Nice job Robin! Gel pen is very brave since you get a pretty solid and unforgiving line, but that is great for building line confidence. The more you do the more you'll see that you won't be afraid to make marks even if it's permanent. Keep going!

Hi Rodney, Thank you for encouraging your fellow artists and taking the challenge of directly drawing in ink!
