Hey everyone! You can post questions about lesson 1 on this thread. Welcome to my workshop!

Hi Hazylle! Thank you for this workshop. I've been looking forward to it! I'm having a little trouble shaping and placing the second circle, the one that represents the flat side of the head. Should it be a circle or an ellipse? Can you give some tips on placing it within the larger, original circle? Also, a couple of things go a little quickly, some of the main measurements. The line that extends down to the chin is supposed to be 1/2 of something, measuring from where? Can you clarify that? Thank you! Lisa

Hi Lisa! Thank you for the great question! The shape should be a circle if we are looking at it straight on from the side. An easier explanation would be to imagine the initial sphere (the very top of the head) to be a clay ball, and we took a knife and cut off a little bit of the sides equally. Those edges that we made would be as round as the initial circle but it could change its shape if we look at it from an angle that is not straight on. What I meant about the length of the line to the chin is it's supposed to be as long as half of the initial circle. So if we divide the circle in half, the length from the end of the circle to down to the chin should be the same length as one of those halves. So overall, the length of the line from the top of the head down to the bottom of the chin should be around one and a half times the size of the first circle. I really hope I explained everything right but if you have any more questions, please feel free to leave them here! I love reading them and seeing where I can explain my process better. Hazylle

Ah, that helps, thank you! We're looking at this model from an angle so the second circle would be a bit of an ellipse.
